Add JSON animations in?

Hi there,

Does anyone know if it is possible to add in JSON animations into Sparkle?

Thanks

Hi @dereklieu, Sparkle doesn’t currently have any way to add animations, other than the on scroll animations that are built-in.

However I am not familiar with JSON animations, could you provide a link?

Hi Duncan, sure thing. I’m not too familiar with them either but I’m using shapes.so (https://shape.so/) who provide animated illustrations in JSON format.

Something to do with ‘Lottie code’ I believe.

I use sometimes animation gif’s/svg’s (not images). I’m experimenting with an app ‘Keyshape’ it can import .json files.
Depends what you like the do, this is made with Keynote, exported as .gif…
(The downside, it doesn’t replay on reload.)

You could also use Hype to create more animations and embed it into Sparkle. This works perfect. https://tumult.com

@Selv tell us more about it please

Hype is a software where you can create almost any animation you want completely visually (like sparkle). You can then export this animations and embed it in sparkle with just 3 lines of code. Here is an example I’ve made with Hype: https://selvservice.ch/sound/
There is also a free trial available for Hype. Just try it out.

I’ve been using Hype as well, since a couple of years.
All kinds of animations can be created and embedding is easy.

They have a gallery of Hype animations on their website:

Quite a good overview of what can be done with Hype.

As @Selv said: Just try it out. :slightly_smiling_face:
