Hi, I thought it could be nice to have an additional checkbox “force download” for adding file downloads to pages with Sparkle, and to add the download atribute to a link this way, so a user downloads the file automatically instead of viewing it if the browser can display the file itself.

I think the browser controls that. You can add text “Right Click to download the file.” Works with Safari. I did not test other browsers

Hi, yes that’s true, but it is an attribute that is helpful for users with limited knowledge.
It lets visitors download the linked file automatically instead of opening it.
I have added a link in a testpage with this attribute and Safari downloads the file instead of showing its content.
But its laborious to use an embed object for this.
