Analytics should be straightforward- and seems to be, but

After 3 days I think it’s not working–

I used GA 4 in the Sparkle settings. Am I missing something else?

If I recall correctly @davekeys, I think Google Analytics has discontinued the use of its old ways so what you have there (Google’s new way) looks correct.

Have you also Verified your Sparkle website, under Settings / Verification?
This is another hoop you need to jump through to verify you are the owner of the website.

Sparkle no longer generates code related to the old google analytics, it’s all GA4 now. The analytics itself needs to be migrated to GA4 (it has been for a while now), and google pushes you to do it so I guess that’s most likely also not a problem.

Verification isn’t actually necessary for analytics to work, and it’s actually the case that if you use analytics you don’t need verification, because it’s implied in the use of analytics.

Unfortunately if analytics isn’t working it’s all in google land. I can suggest turning off the “activate after consent” option in the visitor analytics section of Sparkle’s site settings, because that generates slightly non-standard (or non google approved) tracking code that prevents any connection to the google analytics server until user consent. We feel that’s a safer way to be compliant, even though google swears that you are compliant anyway (they would do that wouldn’t they).
