Blog Smart Field Default Format

I think it would be useful to be able to define the default blog post new page format used by smart fields.

Thanks for the suggestion. Would you be more specific? I’m not sure I get what you’d want to change about the smart field settings in a new page?

Maybe I want the date to show at the top of the blog post page.
How to do that?

@jol you can go to Insert / Smart Field / Date/Time

The default text format for the title, date and post is Lato 22. The default date format is DD/MM/YYYY. It would be useful to be able to change these default settings. Otherwise they need to be changed every time I insert a new blog post.

<< If ‍you ‍already ‍have ‍blog ‍posts ‍and ‍want ‍to ‍add ‍another ‍one ‍in ‍a ‍similar ‍style, ‍consider ‍duplicating ‍an ‍existing ‍post, ‍to ‍preserve ‍layout ‍and ‍formatting. >>

That’s what the documentation recommends.

Mr. F.

Thanks, I know, but that doesn’t help if blog posts are different formats.

Hello.

Ok, now I see where you are going. Not a bad idea at all.

Font size and style are controlled by the text styles.

But here

you could add a field “Always use as default”.

Maybe Duncan is reading along.

Mr. F.

The “always” part is probably not what you actually want though. A date smart field used for the copyright notice will be just the year for example.

Thank you very much for your kind suggestion.
It is as much work as dragging the existing Date/Time to the top of the Blog Post, then editing it.
