I implemented search via a popup (www.cedrus.com):
The popup appears when you click on the magnifying glass. I want this to appear on every page. However, when I set the popup to “Show on all pages”, Sparkle says no search results found.
For now, I’m having the magnifying glass appear only on the home page, but I hope this bug can be fixed soon.
Two more wish list items:

When I click on the popup, is there a way to have the search edit field be in focus? Currently, a visitor has to click on it before she can type.

It would be better if one can dismiss the popup by clicking anywhere else on the page.
