Could someone please let me know if it’s possible to link to a specific section of one page from an external link? I read on another site it’s something to do with an ID tag which I have enabled in advanced settings but I can’t get it to work.

You can use scroll locations. Say you set one midway down the page and name it #section, you can then tack that on the page address, so https://domain.com/page.html#section is the “external link” for that position.
If you want to link to it from within Sparkle there’s no need to build up the address like that, you can pick the “page on this site” and select which of the scroll locations to link to.
