Is it possible to make a box go off the page?

I have a box that I’ve made into a circle. I’d like to make part of it go off the top of the page so it looks like the top of the circle has been cut off. Is this possible? Thanks.

The easiest way to do this is to create your circle in a graphics app and export it as an image file. You can then open the image in Apple’s Preview app and crop the top of the circle, like this:

circle

Yo can then place the cropped circle as an image at the top of your sparkle page. An alternative method would be to create the shape in Apple Pages, or Keynote,

You can then copy the shape to your clipboard and paste it directly onto the sparkle canvas.

Thank you for your reply. I should have made it clear that I want the bottom of the circle to cast a shadow, so it needs to be an actual circle element, not a square element with a circle graphic in it.

If you create the circle shape in Apple Pages and use copy and paste to add it to your Sparkle canvas, you can add a shadow to the shape. Although the object is in a rectangular bounding box, the background is completely transparent, meaning that it can sit on top of a page background colour. It also means that if you apply a shadow using the Contour option, the shadow will be applied to the circle, not the bounding box:

Hello Gary :wave:t2:

It’s possible to have the shadow surround the circular element instead of the square. To achieve this, you need two things:

1 - Image, not a box: If your image is in a box, it won’t work. The element needs to be an image. If it’s currently in a box, simply right-click on it and select “Convert to image.”

2 - Circle on a transparent background: The circle needs to be on a transparent background. If it isn’t, you can use Sparkle’s “remove background” function, which will make the background transparent for you.

Here’s an example, using Frank’s circle:

Edit: Franc was quicker! :joy:
