Paragraph/Text styles

I was thinking it would be nice if it was possible - without having to split text boxes, which isn’t intuitive or helpful by the way - to apply a style to say a paragraph of text, like a quote, which would allow you bring in the margins on both sides; this would have the effect of making the said ‘quote’ to stand out more.
Can this be done or have I just missed something obvious?
