Preview and Published sites are different!

This is driving me batty - why when I publish a site is it different than what I see when I do the live preview? I have an image gallery with a label for each picture in the gallery with the “show label” box checked. When I preview the site, it works fine. When publish the site, the labels don’t show up - it’s just a white box. Also, I’ve pasted a PayPal link that works fine on preview, but when I publish, it won’t work. I’m at a loss! The site is www.jbfcf.org.

I can see your labels in the white box to the right of your images @jlclark007
This might be a browser cache thing on your end?

I’m also noting your page is throwing a couple of errors, one regarding javascript. Something you’ve added looks like it is conflicting with Sparkle’s code generation?

Hi @jlclark007, sorry about the trouble. I looked at the site and don’t see any of the issues, could you point them out? Perhaps a screenshot with arrows on it could help.

At a quick look your web host is using a server side cache. This frequently has the effect of messing up the server response, producing an older html file with no corresponding newer css or javascript file, resulting in the sort of errors you have seen. The screenshot below is what reveals the server cache. Generally the web host has a button to either turn off or clear the cache. Turning off is better, because clearing would need to be done every time you publish an update, to ensure the cache goes back to the just published files and saves those.

Thank you for your quick and kind reply, Duncan!

Thanks for the note! Yes, I believe it’s a browser cache thing on my end.
