Question about Pagespeed and gzip

Pagespeed insists I need to do gzip compression. Isn’t this already being done in Sparkle, I thought it was? Or is this just a nonsense metric? I can’t imagine it impacting my speed much, but it’s saying it would save 1.3 seconds, so mostly just a question for my understanding of what is going on.

It’s a server configuration, depends on the server. Many web hosting services use Apache, there’s a configuration shown here:
