"Visible on this device" checkmark not working properly

I’ve installed Sparkle 3.1.1 on a new Macbook Air M1 (Big Sur 11.4) and the checkmark next to “visible on this device” doesn’t change the visibility of elements in the editor. It does work for preview (and presumably the published site), but in the editor elements stay visible even if “visible on this device” is unchecked.

I didn’t have this problem in earlier versions, just a bug?

It’s used in conjunction with the eye icon in the top-left of the canvas, to show or hide hidden elements.
