All pages open in a new tab?

Hi. I am just tweaking my website and I can’t seem to figure out why every page I open in my website opens a new tab in my browser. I am sure it is just a setting I am missing, but having 6 tabs open to look at my site seems excessive. Suggestions appreciated.

How do I stop Safari from opening a new tab when I click on a link?

  1. Open Safari Preferences.
  2. Click the Tabs icon in the toolbar.
  3. Check “Command-click opens a link in a new tab”
  4. Uncheck “When a new tab or window opens, make it active”
