Caution for Handbrake 1.5.1 for Web Conversions

If you’ve been using Handbrake for doing web conversions of your videos (it’s been a perfect solution) there’s a small gotcha in the latest version:

Depending on what codecs are installed on your Mac, the setting, “Align AV Start” may or may not be checked. If it’s NOT the file won’t be compatible with Sparkle.

So if you make the update to 1.5.1 make sure this option is checked and you won’t have any issues. I just spent a day sorting this out and thought it was a bug in HB, it’s just a setting differential. Whew.

Thanks for Duncan helping me get this sorted - thought I’d share to keep others from losing their minds on the fix.

Yes, been using Handbrake for years…a great utility and free! Amazing how good it is and how many odd formats it converts.
