Hello wizards, when I mark a page and click “duplicate” I don’t (always) get the expected result.
Sometimes Sparkle makes a copy of the page, but sometimes Sparkle duplicates the whole website. What do I do wrong?

You need to make sure you actually highlight the page you want to duplicate in the side panel. If it’s only greyed out (rather than highlighted), you will end up duplicating the entire site.
